Connected Worlds the Theme of CeBIT 2010 as Organizers Anticipate Growth Opportunities
CeBIT 2010, March 2-6, Hanover, Germany

Deutsche Messe AG, organizer of CeBIT, expects fresh opportunities for growth due to the introduction of a new major topic area and positive feedback on the international ICT market. “We have already received confirmations from major ICT companies and international corporate groups,” reported Ernst Raue, Board Member of Deutsche Messe AG. Raue added, “Given the response of these companies, we are looking forward to the coming months with confidence. Indeed, it is at critical times in particular that many businesses take advantage of the opportunities offered by a key international trade show”

Connected Worlds, the CeBIT theme for 2010, was developed in cooperation with leading companies. According to Raue, “Connected Worlds describes how the innovative strength of the ICT industry is leading to the rapid convergence of worlds that were hitherto largely separate. Those who succeed in networking different areas as intelligently as possible will enjoy long-term business success.” Raue indicated that convergence applies to hardware, mobile equipment, web applications, and user interfaces as well as all business and consumer applications.

CeBIT, which will run March 2–6, 2010, in Hannover, Germany, will also be organized more efficiently, with the major display categories structured according to visitor needs. Raue explained, “We have further consolidated the layout of the fairgrounds, and the topic areas are now structured even more clearly.” Traditional CeBIT exhibit categories – business IT, communications, infrastructure, public sector, and R&D – will be supplemented by such new content areas as banking and finance, security and telematics.

In addition, existing topic areas such as Webciety and Green IT are expected to grow. At the request of exhibitors, companies will also have the opportunity to organize large-scale corporate events at the CeBIT venue.  A number of companies and their partners will occupy entire halls.

Running in tandem with CeBIT, the CeBIT Global Conferences – which foster international networking and knowledge transfer – will present ICT innovations, trends and forecasts. The main 2010 conference topic is “Challenges of a Changing World – ICT for Better Lives and Better Business”. Raue said, “After the outstanding feedback on the CeBIT Global Conferences in 2009, we will be extending the program and adding new topics. This CeBIT event is one of the world’s most prestigious ICT congresses.” Keynote speakers will include representatives from Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Flickr, IBM, and Kaspersky Lab.
